Höllük kavramı ve uygulaması üzerine bazı tespit ve değerlendirmeler

Türk kültür ikliminin hâkim olduğu coğrafyalardaki geleneksel doğum ritüellerinin uzunca bir süre tartışmasız bir parçası olan höllük, kolayca çamurlaşmayan, ince kumu andırsa da ondan farklı olan bir tür topraktır. Ġçerdiği kil nedeniyle yüksek oranda emicilik özelliği taşıyan höllük, bu özelliği ile çocuklarda pişiğe neden olan ıslaklığı gidererek, bebeğin ve dolayısıyla da annenin huzursuz olmasını engeller. Hayatın üç önemli geçiş aşamasından ilki olan doğum, öncesi ve sonrası ile sağlıklı birey gelişimini ilke edinir. Bu amacın gerçekleşmesine içerisinde bulunulan şartlar etrafındaki çözüm metotlarından biri de höllük olup bu yönüyle azımsanmayacak bir fonksiyon icra eder. Bu doğrultuda, çalışmada öncelikle höllük kavramı üzerinde bazı tespit ve değerlendirmeleri takiben, kavramın sözlü kültür ürünlerimiz üzerindeki izleri bazı örneklerden hareketle dikkatlere sunulacaktır.
